Bowen and Craniosacral Therapy Upminster is located 300 meters from Upminster tube in the London borough of Havering, Essex. The clinic is run from a ground floor treatment room just off of Upminster High Street where you will always be guaranteed free parking on the driveway.
The Bowen Technique is a gentle hands on therapy. Through moves at specific points on the body’s soft tissue, muscles and fascia the nervous and endocrine system are affected. In this way Bowen appears to stimulate the body to rebalance and heal itself without the need of forceful manipulation.
I completed my Bowen basic and advance training with Bowtech.
Craniosacral Therapy, like Bowen, is also a gentel non invasive hands on therapy which supports the body's natural healing mechanisms. Both Bowen and Craniosacral are suitable for any stage of life from new born babies to the very frail, during pregnacy and to for post surgery care.
I completed my two year Craniosacral diploma with the Craniosacral Education Trust in London.
I personally experienced the Bowen Technique over twenty years ago when suffering with a very painful back spasm. I left the treatment room furious with how little the therapist had done and only once I’d calmed down realised I was pain free for the first time in months. I was eager to know how and years later took the opportunity to learn.
I trained with Bowtech; founded by Ossie Rentsch who worked directly alongside the late Tom Bowen. Since my initial training I have worked through the Bowtech advanced modules and in 2019 trained with Ossie Rentsch himself. I have been lucky enough to train with other leading Bowen practitioners and published authors, John Wilks and Julian Baker. I am a full member of the Bowen Therapy Association UK, a qualified Reiki Master, hold a Level 3 VTCT, full indemnity insurance, a current first aid certificate, a First Class BA (Hons) degree, Masters degree and regularly undertake registered courses as part of my continued professional development.
Both Bowen and Craniosacral therapy are complimentary therapies and as such should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice, I do not diagnose. However, the techniques may aid the body to function to the best of its ability, supporting natural recovery or medical interventions including post-operative healing.
